Amanda Corbett & Sean McDonald Delegation
Oct 24, 2024 Region of Peel Council Meeting
On Thursday, October 24, I delegated at the Peel Region Council Meeting to address traffic and truck safety concerns in Caledon and the Region of Peel. It was my first time delegating—a nerve-wracking but essential step in amplifying the CCRSA Group’s message.

The message seemed well-received by the Peel Region Council. Chair Nando Iannicca, in particular, took special interest, even sharing a personal story about his own experience driving on Highway 50 and his shock at the conditions on Caledon’s roads. He committed to respond within 60 days with a detailed outline of what the Region of Peel is prepared to do to support our goals for road safety and address the illegal truck yard issues.
This step is crucial in gaining support from outside Caledon, and I am proud to stand with the CCRSA Group and all the volunteers working tirelessly for change.
While Bolton residents may not see immediate changes, there is a lot happening behind the scenes: delegations at town and region meetings, follow-up emails, phone calls with elected officials, and more. I have also noticed increased OPP presence in Bolton, where they are actively stopping dangerous drivers and trucks driving in no-truck zones. This response directly aligns with feedback they received at the Bolton Traffic Meeting on October 3rd.
My ask to Caledon residents:
Please come out and support wherever, whenever, and however you can. Even if it’s just sending an email to elected officials, attending a single protest or council meeting, addressing a specific agenda item, or delegating at a council meeting—every action helps. The noise we’re making is starting to make a difference. Keep stepping up! Keep doing what you can, even if it feels small. Your voice matters, and the more of us who stand up and act, the sooner we will see real change.
